South Africa

Our In-Country Partner for the IBT in South Africa is:

IEB (Independent Examinations Board)

The ACER International Benchmark Tests are taken by nearly 40 000 IEB learners annually across South Africa in Mathematics, Science and English. These tests enable over 150 schools to track individual learner performance as well as school performance from Grades 3 to 10. The feedback on learner strengths and weaknesses and the international benchmarking provide schools with rich information that guides both teaching and learning.

The schools that participate are from all parts of the country and include schools in neighbouring SADC countries. They are predominantly independent schools but state schools may enter, should they wish to do so.
